Viewed in the context of a world of eight billion people, the answer becomes clear: Nobody and Everybody.
Unless we are talking about Mahatma Gandhi, Genghis Khan, or Jesus, who really stands out as someone who changed the course of human history? The above examples, to be clear, are simply what popped in my mind. But you get the idea.
I ask this because we all, of course, want to feel like we’re special, like something about us would stand out in a vast sea of human history. It’s a fantasy on a macro level, of course, yet somehow it’s true on a micro level.
How so, you might ask?
Well, this is the magic of life — there’s just enough variation in each of us to make us not quite the same, which counts as a form of special, doesn’t it?
Yeah, I think so.
