These Are the Good Old Days (Part 1)

I’ve lived a very good life — something that didn’t seem likely based on where I came from. Survived cancer and sepsis in my fifties, as well as various other issues we don’t need to go into here. And yet here I find myself in Act III feeling quite good, all things considered. Even better, I’m still healthy — and better still, my brain is fully functioning. WTF do I have to complain about?

I’ve got someone who loves me, and I’m working on a new book. Still learning, still fully engaged.

It’s important to stop and take a moment to appreciate what you’ve got while you still feel good.

Nothing lasts forever.
