Each day, after I meditate, I repeat this affirmation to myself like a prayer. Even though I am, of course, an atheist.
Today is a wonderful day. A day where I am grateful for every moment of life I have. A day where I strive to live and enjoy each moment to its fullest.
It’s a practice I began after I survived cancer thirteen years ago. What does this accomplish? It’s just a reminder that the void is patiently waiting, and I must be mindful.
Someday this will be over.
