- Write compelling characters. I don’t know about you, but if I’m not curious about the characters, I’m out. Everything else is secondary. If there is one thing all humans are interested in, it’s other humans.
- Make it fun to read. I realize this is different for everyone; thus, it’s kind of impossible to quantify. Let’s make it more precise: Make sure it’s fun to read for you. I would even go one step further: Make sure you have fun writing it.
