When running models in your head trying to predict the outcome of any social issue involving change, the worst case scenario is usually the one that wins in the short run.
The hopeful best case scenario?
Not so much.
The long game, however, is a different story. Social change happens in fits and starts. History teaches us the opening battle is often lost, but the evolutionary war is always won, and life evolves socially as well as biologically.
So it pays to play the long game, and be prepared for early disappointment.
It’s important to understand that this is neither good nor bad, it’s just the way life works.
You’ll be a lot happier.
